Which instruments do you teach at Musicology?
I teach Cello and Beginning Violin.
 
How long have you been teaching music?
Since I was 14, so about 11 years!
 
What do you like the most about teaching?
I’ve always loved music. I love communicating music to my students and watching them experience it in ways they never thought they could. Learning how to read the music staff is crazy and it’s way more fun than learning Latin!
 
What is your favorite type of music? 
It, of course, depends on my mood. If I’m feeling organized, I love classical music. If I need a break, I’ll turn on some country music. Feeling spunky, I want pop. Every now and then, you might even get me to play some Bluegrass.
 
What are your hobbies, besides music?
I’m OBSESSED with decorating- paint colors, holiday décor, furniture! I love going to the gym, hiking, playing tennis, watching football, shopping and hanging out with my husband.
 
What is your favorite kind of food?
Well, coffee is a MUST! Besides that, I would have to say Mexican food. I love Rosie’s!
 
Do you have any pets?
Yep. We have two turtles and a golden retriever that is technically my Mom’s, but we both know he belongs to me.  I used to have two horses, which I miss like crazy.

1. What kind of lessons do you take at Musicology? I take piano and voice lessons with Miss Kelli Udas.

 

1. How long have you taken lessons?  I have been taking piano for four years and voice for a year.

 

1. What are your hobbies, besides music?  I like football, basketball and playing with my friends.

 

1. What is your favorite food? Sushi!!

 

1. What is the best thing you have learned from your teacher?   I have learned to keep my head straight when I’m singing and not raise it up. I’ve also learned chords, majors and minors.

Musicology’s Rock Band Program (ages 10-18) is in need of a few new players. Ask your teacher if you’re ready for a Rock Band.
We have open spots for:

• Piano Players
• Guitar Players
• Bass Guitar (if you take guitar lessons, not bass, you could still be eligible)
• Drummers
