I like to ignite the spark of the love of music and the excitement of sharing that gift with others. How do you inspire students to practice more? I always try to remind my students that practice doesn’t make perfect - practice makes progress. The more you practice, the more you will excel. What part do you feel that playing or singing in a group has in a student's development? I love the feeling of being “one voice” that shares a common idea or emotion. Singing together helps you and the others who sing with you. What is your favorite type of music? I would have to say Classical or Broadway. It would be impossible to choose between the two. What methods will you use to teach your students? I will explore my students’ individual gifts, whether it’s singing or playing the piano. I will incorporate scales and fundamentals in to music that they love. What are your hobbies, besides music? I like to go to the movies, hang out with my family and participate in community theatre.
